Privacy Policy

Home Team Coach AI is currently for adults aged 18 and older. It helps adult baseball and softball players and coaches review selected practice clips and receive AI-assisted training feedback. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and how users can request deletion.

Home Team Coach AI is a supplemental informational and training aid only. It does not provide medical, injury, safety, professional coaching, recruiting, eligibility, or emergency advice.

Information we collect

Practice clips. When you choose a practice clip for analysis, the app uploads that selected video to our backend so it can prepare visible skill moments and generate a coaching report. We do not access your entire video library. We only receive clips you choose to upload. Practice clips may include images, voice, surroundings, teammates, coaches, facility details, uniforms, names, numbers, or other information visible or audible in the video.

Coaching reports and training data. We may store generated reports, scores, focus areas, recommendations, confidence notes, detected activity labels, report history, practice-plan information, and progress history so the app can show prior results and personalize later feedback.

Player profile and settings. The app may store profile and settings information you enter, such as player name, batting side, throwing arm, skill level, training goal, sport, position, preferences, and app settings.

Account or anonymous identifier. You may continue as a guest or sign in using Google or Apple. Supabase provides authentication and account-scoped cloud storage for profiles, reports, settings, notes, feedback, and daily usage. Signed-in accounts may include an email address and provider account identifier. Local data is also saved on your device. The adult-eligibility screen asks you to confirm whether you are 18 or older and saves only that eligibility result on your device. It does not ask for or collect your birth date.

Free release. The initial public iOS release is free, with up to 100 analyses per account per day, including guest accounts. No payment is required and purchase/subscription collection is not enabled in that release. We will update these disclosures before enabling paid features.

Device, app, usage, and diagnostic information. We may collect technical information needed to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the app, such as app version, platform, backend request and error logs, feature usage, upload status, processing status, and abuse-prevention signals.

Support communications. If you contact support, we may collect your email address, message, attachments you choose to send, device/app details, and other information needed to respond.

How we use information

We do not use Home Team Coach AI to provide medical diagnosis, injury clearance, safety certification, scouting certification, recruiting decisions, eligibility decisions, or guaranteed performance predictions.

AI processing

Before each new analysis, the app asks permission to upload your chosen video to our server and send extracted images, movement measurements, and selected coaching context (level, training goals, batting side, throwing arm, coaching type and style) to Google Gemini. You can decline; declining does not upload the video or start a new analysis. The server uses MediaPipe Pose Landmarker to estimate body landmarks and movement measures, including head-position movement, for sports feedback. These estimates are not facial recognition, identity verification, medical measurements, or exact biomechanics. We do not include your account email or profile name in Gemini prompts. AI-generated output can be wrong, incomplete, delayed, inconsistent, or unsuitable for a particular player. Users should independently review all AI output before relying on it.

Our Gemini API project uses paid billing. Under Google's paid Gemini API terms, submitted prompts, images and responses are not used to improve Google products. Google may retain inputs and responses for a limited period for safety, security and required legal disclosures; paid processing does not mean zero retention. We do not use your uploads to train our own models. See Google's Gemini API terms.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers that help operate the app, such as cloud database, authentication, hosting, storage, backend, AI model, media-processing, app store, payment, subscription, diagnostics, security, and support providers. We may also share information with professional advisors, legal authorities, or other parties when required or permitted by law.

Home Team Coach AI may let users share written notes, reports, or other output through the device share sheet. The app should avoid sharing original player videos by default. Users are responsible for what they choose to share outside the app.

Retention

We aim to keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law. Uploaded raw videos are intended to be stored temporarily only as needed to complete analysis, troubleshoot failed jobs, secure the service, and support user requests. Prepared swing moments, generated reports, profile/settings data, usage limits, purchase status, and report history may be stored with the user's account or device identifier until deleted, the account is deleted, or retention is no longer necessary.

Support messages, backups, logs, payment records, fraud-prevention records, security records, and legal/compliance records may be retained for a limited period when required or permitted. De-identified or aggregated information that no longer identifies a user may be retained and used for analytics, reliability, and product improvement.

Adults-only availability

This release is not available to people under 18 and is not directed toward children, youth players, or school students. Parent or guardian permission does not allow an under-18 person to use this release. Do not share an adult account with a minor. If you believe a minor has provided information to us, contact support so we can investigate and handle deletion appropriately. Only upload videos with all required permissions from the people shown.

User choices and deletion requests

You can choose whether to upload a video, revoke video-library permission in device settings, edit player profile fields if supported by the production app, share or not share reports and notes, manage your account, and request deletion of stored app data.

Signed-in users can delete their account from Profile using Delete account. This removes eligible account data; support can assist with additional deletion requests, including guest data. To request deletion, email support@hometeamcoachai.com with the subject line "Home Team Coach AI Data Deletion" or use the data deletion page. We may need to verify your identity or authority before deleting data. We will delete or de-identify eligible data within a reasonable period, subject to information we must or may retain for legal, tax, payment, fraud-prevention, security, backup, dispute, or compliance reasons.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including HTTPS for production backend traffic, backend storage for secrets, access controls, and database security controls where appropriate. No system can be guaranteed completely secure. We cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed, disclosed, altered, lost, or destroyed.

Regional privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, object to, or restrict certain processing of personal information. You may contact us at support@hometeamcoachai.com to make a privacy request. We may need to verify your identity and authority before acting on a request.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the app changes. If changes are material, we will update the effective date and, when required, provide notice in the app, on the support site, or in the store listing. For privacy questions or deletion requests, contact support@hometeamcoachai.com.
